Short version: no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, no adverts and no requests to anyone else’s servers.

What stays in your browser
Two features remember things for you, and both keep that information in your browser’s local storage on your own device:
- Shopping list — the recipes you added, the quantities and which items you ticked off (stored under the key
sbf:basket:v1). - Unit preference — whether you chose metric or US measures (key
sbf:units).
None of this is ever sent to us. You can remove it with the Clear list button on the shopping list page, or by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings. If your browser blocks local storage, the site still works; the list simply will not be remembered.
What the web server sees
Like any website, our server receives the technical details every browser sends with a request: your IP address, the page asked for, the time, and the browser’s user-agent string. These are written to an access log that we use only to fix problems and to block abusive traffic. Logs are deleted automatically after 14 days and are not shared, sold or combined with anything else.
No third parties
Pages load nothing from other domains: no web fonts, no embedded videos, no social buttons, no tracking pixels. The illustrations, styles and scripts are all served from this site.
If you write to hello@search-best.food, we use your message and address only to reply and, if needed, to fix a recipe. Correspondence is deleted once it is no longer needed.
